Fire and Water

Fire & Water begins with Keagan, a fire elemental, betrothed to the princess of Fire Nation in unhappy, loveless engagement of convenience. Meanwhile, he’s involved in an illicit affair with Aedre, the beautiful and conning princesses of the Water Kingdom. Both lovers risk the death penalty if their love is discovered.

Court intrigue and espionage ensues as Fire Nation and Water Kingdom rush towards genocidal warfare. It’s up to Keagan and Aedre to bring peace to their people while remaining true to themselves and their love for each other. But is peace between fire and water even possible?

“Fire & Water” is now available on Kindle . Go ahead and click the link, a little steamy romance isn’t dangerous — unless you happen to be Keagan or Aedre.

Seperating my blogs

After finally figuring out how to actually do it, I made Facebook page for Fire and Water. Filled with facts and trivia about the origins of the elementals, it should be entertaining. So take a look, and if your finger slips and clicks the like button, I don’t mind…

That name page will also allow me to keep this blog more focused on personal stuff, interesting events that happen to me, my strange and funny ideas, etc.

About my upcoming book Fire and Water and new cover

After a dozen+ revisions, I think I finally completed the final cover to Fire and Water. The photo is Aedre, princess of the Water Kingdom, which is controlled by water elementals called Undines. Like the photo, she’s blue with greenish hair and green eyes.

The red in the background represents two things. Fire, hence the title of the story. Her lover is  Keegan, a merchant from the Fire Kingdom, which is controlled by fire elementals called Salamanders. You can smell trouble already, with opposite elementals falling in love, don’t you? That brings us to the second thing the red represents, which is the destruction of Aedre’s kingdom at the hands of the Salamanders — in part due to the taboo love affair even if the root cause is paranoia, racism, espionage, etc between the two races of elementals.

To give you a better idea of what they story’s about, here’s the book description that I’ve worked up so far:

Keagan is bethrothed to Ashbel for an arranged marriage of convenience. Aedre, the princess of the Water Kingdom, is at constant odds with her mother over the policy of continual war the nation of her taboo lover. The love between the opposite elementals is such taboo that they both risk execution for it. Indeed, physical love is fatal and the slightest caress is a heady combination of pleasure and pain- not that the risk isn’t worth illicit liaisons.

Imprisoned and sentenced to death on false charges by the Water Queen, Keagan believes he must prevent the mutual destruction of his and Aedre’s worlds as genocidal war looms. But the choice is not so simple. As the worlds race headlong toward destruction, can Keagan to prevent war and ultimately genocide, while remaining true to Aedre. Will Keagan and Aedre’s hateful and bigoted worlds force the lovers to abandon them to their fate?

So, without further ado, here’s the cover. Notice it’s slightly different from the one I posted on Twiiter a little while ago. I made the title font a little prettier.
